Ingredients:


1 lb. Chicken Breast, Ground
1 Small Jalapeño, Minced
2 Tbsp Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
2 tsp Chili Powder
½ tsp Cumin, Ground
½ tsp Salt
4 Slices Cheddar or Pepper Jack Cheese, Reduced-Fat (optional)
4 Thin Hamburger Buns, Whole Grain
1 Large Tomato, Sliced
1 cup Salsa


Directions:


  1. Combine chicken, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic and seasonings in large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Divide mixture and evenly shape into 4 patties.
  3. Heat grill to medium heat. Grill burgers 10 to 12 minutes or until cooked through, about 160°F. Place cheese on burgers during last minute of grilling.
  4. Place burgers on bun bottoms. Top with tomato slices. Serve with salsa.

 

Lighten Up Tip: Serve burgers atop chopped romaine lettuce. Serve with tomato and cucumber slices. Drizzle with barbecue sauce.
