The Academy Awards are almost here and what better way to celebrate than to throw an award viewing bash fete fit for Hollywood? Whether you are hosting or going to an Oscar party this year, here are some ideas for healthy dishes to make and share:
Instead of guac, try this avocado dip. With less calories and full of protein from Greek yogurt, you and the family could rock the red carpet with the rest of the stars.

Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados, peeled and pits removed
2 cups 0% Greek yogurt, plain
1 Tbsp red onion, chopped
2 Tbsp cilantro, finely chopped
1 cup fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp fresh lime juice
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, mix well to make a smooth dip. Get kids involved: little assistants can help scoop out avocados and mash into a bowl or help mix all ingredients together with a wooden spoon.
Slice fresh vegetables such as bell peppers, cucumbers, or jicama and serve with this delicious dip that all kids will love!

Rather than munching on chips while watching the stars in their fabulous dresses, feel less guilty and get some calcium too with these delicious Kale chips.
Ingredients:
I bunch Kale
1 TBSP olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, Line a non-insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper. With a knife or kitchen shears, carefully remove leaves from the thick stem and tear into bite sized pieces. Wash and throughly dry ale in a salad spinner.
Drizzle Kale with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake until edges are brown, but not burnt, approximately 10-15 minutes.
